Default Ranger/Water Elementalist

I just thought of this character build, but I cant test it so i thought I would fine-tune it while I am waiting to start it.

Ranger skills:
Punishing shot
Read the wind
Power shot

Elementalist skills:
Deep freeze
Frozen Burst
Aura of restoration

I only put 6 in there to give leeway for more ranger skills or elementalist skills. I also did not want to think about elite skills yet because I just want to see where the initial character goes then work around that.

What are you going for? I would think this build, much like the Ranger/Air Elementalist, would aim to slow/disable the enemy while damaging it with a bow. Of course, if the enemy is running towards you, the longer it takes to get to you the more arrows you can pound it with, so naturally such slowing skills are effective.

Since your going for water, I would think adding some slow-specific spells like Ice Prison should help help your enemy away from you and your team. Bow attacks that add poison like Apply Poison help you wither the enemy away while they try to get to you. When faced with a group, slow them all down with some area-of-effect water spells so they have a hard to reaching you.

Some say water magic is best kept to PvP, but when it's secondary to a ranger, it can help out quite a bit. And ice is always fun to play with.

i believe punishing shot is an elite skill-basically power shot with an interupt and cant be blcoked/evaded, etc.

so i think punisihg shot will work well
power shot is another attacking one
use expertise and uve got cheap 2 skills to use together

read the wind will make your bow attacks stronger and faster and all that, more power

then weve got these water skills
deep freeze - your goibng to waste all your energy on one skill thats not even as good es everyone thinks it is, il take ice spikes over it any day

frozen burst is a pretty good skill, take it has some close range defense if u get hit by a warrior

another skill to use i think from your water side is blurred vision, why not blind the warrior/ranger then fire away.

conjure frost will give u a bit more power onto your arrows to make u a pwoer house machine.

id take out auro of resturation, theres just no need for it since ure not elem/ranger

so...

Ya I'd have to agree with you on that just because of the energy decrease

I'd say that since in your skills you a 3 ranger skills and 4 elementalist skills that this could end up being an elem/ranger. but, ignoring that, if this becomes a character based on physical damage with cold added to it, You are going to be fighting right in the battle at some points in time and you are going to need some way to heal yourself. i figured with aura of restoration you will automatically heal during battle and you wont need to cast troll unguent.
